It is with deep sadness to let you know that Angie Rodrigues passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2024 in Sacramento, CA with Art by her side. She was 89 years old. I know there are so many of you that will be touched by her passing, as she and Art have been core to the heart of the Santa Clara ski club for close to 50 years, and she will be missed. She and Art were very well known to so many in the California waterski scene.
Her memorial will be on Wednesday August 21, 2024 at Oak Hill Cemetery, 300 Curtner Avenue, San Jose, CA 95125. Service starts at 2:00 p.m. and will be in the Chapel of Roses.
Johnnie Reese Matranga was born January 12, 1931 and passed away on March 8, 2024 in Sacramento, CA at the age of 93. Many of you may have known Johnnie. In the 1950s he discovered water skiing on the Sacramento River. He and his wife joined the Sacramento Water Ski Club and began a longtime participation in tournament water skiing. He won many championships, including 3 National Championships. In 2009 he was presented with the American Water Ski Association Award of Distinction. He was elected to the Western Region Council and was elected Executive Vice president for the Western Region. He served on the Correct Craft Promotional Team and helped with design and development of the Ski Nautique. He served on the team for 20 years and took his boat to tournaments all over the west coast.

Thomas John Nagle, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Thursday March 12, 2020, at the age of 76. He was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, then moved to California in 1967 and remained a dedicated Wolverine fan. He received his MBA from UCLA. He married Wilma “Willie” Ann in 1967 and they were partners for life, married for over 52 years. They have resided in Canyon Lake since 1977. Tom retired after a lengthy and successful career in engineering, working for McDonnell Douglas, TRW, Boeing and the FAA. Significant projects of his included aircraft cabin air quality and GPS. Tom had a passion for many hobbies. He was a corvette enthusiast, avid tournament water skier, and pilot. Tom enjoyed being a longtime member of the Canyon Lake Water Ski Club, as well as a former President. He was a charter member of the Corvettes of Temecula Valley. Tom was also a member of Vette Set and Aquia Creek Corvette Clubs. Tom and Willie raised 2 girls, Brandy and Jamie. Tom spent many years coaching them in soccer and fostering a love of water skiing.
Tom was preceded in death by his daughter Jamie Marie Nagle and is survived by his wife Wilma, daughter Brandy, son-in-law, and grandchildren Maddie and Jake.

Due to the rapidly evolving Coronavirus situation, the Goode family has POSTPONED the March 14th Celebration of Life gathering honoring Dave Goode. Details for a rescheduled event will be shared as soon as they are determined. While the family will miss celebrating Dave’s life and legacy with everyone this Saturday, there is no doubt that Dave would not have wanted to endanger the health of his friends and family.
It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Jack Hanna at the waterski age of 78. Our thoughts go out to his family, friends and ski partners throughout the Nation.
