Erika Lang (9,570 points) wins first career women’s world tricks title.

Effective this date and going forward, the following rules interpretation will be used regarding submission of national records. This interpretation will follow the stipulations of AWSA Rule 1.07.
AWSA 14.01: Only skiers with US citizenship may set records; this includes those with dual citizenship. However, a competitor who skis in international competition for another federation shall not be eligible to set a record for two years following their performance in that international competition.

Congratulations each to Jack Wilson and Gordon Rathbun on receiving the honor of the Award of Distinction this past weekend at the USAWS Hall of Fame.
USA Water Ski and its respective sport disciplines honored several athletes, coaches, volunteers and ambassadors at its annual awards reception on Saturday evening at the Lake Eva Banquet Hall in Haines City, Fla. The reception, which celebrated the 2012 water ski season, was held in conjunction with USA Water Ski’s mid-winter board meetings for the 13th consecutive year. The respective award winners were selected either by the USA Water Ski Awards Committee or by the sport discipline’s organization.
2012 Malibu Pan American Water Ski Championships earned overall team gold medals at the biennial event, Sept. 12-15, at the Pickos World Ski Resort in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. Congratulations to team members from the West: Connie Bergmark, Brandy Nagle, Ryan Canepa, Nicholas Lang and Erika Lang
