The Western Regional Council awarded the Regional Tournament bid for 2018 to Laku Landing, Windsor, Colorado at the winter meeting. The 2018 Nationals will be located at Mystic Lakes outside Wichita, Kansas. Bids for the 2019 Regional Tournament and National Tournament are now being accepted.

Owen Letcher – West Region EVP

Ryan Canepa (Elk Grove, CA) has been awarded the AWSA Junior Skier of the Year award. The award is issued annually to one skier in the country based upon skier performance in the previous year. Congratulations to Ryan and his family for the award.

Congratulations to John and Lucie Goodman for being the awarded the USA Waterski Award of Merit. The Award of Merit is awarded annually to a deserving volunteer within all nine sport divisions and is the highest award issued by the organization. We in the West have recognized the contributions of John and Lucie and it is great to see the recognition taken to the highest level of the sport.
