IWWF has adopted the following rule change related to the jump grid marking buoys within the landing zone: Any video distance measurement buoys or spectator reference buoys must be a minimum of 8 meters from the ramp centerline for safety purposes so that they will not interfere with the skier while landing.

IWWF has adopted the following rule change related to the jump ramp: Jump Ramp Deviation – the maximum deviation within the surface of the jump ramp from a flat surface can be a maximum of 2 cm. Prior tolerance was 2.5 cm. Additionally any deviation if more than 1 cm must be in the center of the out of water surface.

AWSA President Jeff Surdej, has sent out a survey to all Boys 1-3, Girls 1-3 and Men 1, Women 1 skiers regarding participation in the AWSA Nationals. Please take a moment to fill it out if you or your junior skiers received the survey. If you have multiple junior skiers and they have the same address please send an additional email address so that surveys can be counted for each junior skier.
Yes, there is a prize for the Region who has the greatest percentage return on surveys. So lets go West Region, return your surveys. As of Sept 15th the West is in last place, we can do better than that.
Gail Heinrich was presented with the Award of Merit. This is presented to a member or an official who epitomized friendship, dedication and integrity. The first award was presented at the US National tournament and is now one of the Western Region’s most prestigious honors. This award was established and is maintained for a deserving person who might otherwise go unnoticed.
Sam Lee was presented the Outstanding Official Award. This honor is presented at the Western Regional Water Ski Championships each year to an official who has shown to be extremely hard working and dedicated. Other officials volunteering at the tournament make the selection.
